Welcome to the best. John Coulouris

john coulouris's Bio:

John Coulouris: Entrepreneur, Advocate, and Newark Native John Coulouris is more than just an entrepreneur—he’s a man shaped by the raw, unfiltered streets of Newark, New Jersey. Growing up as a Black man in a city known for its industrial backbone yet plagued by economic struggles, crime, and systemic neglect, John Coulouris learned early that life doesn’t pull punches. Newark wasn’t an easy place to call home. Poverty lingered like a shadow, and opportunities felt out of reach for many. For John, being a Black man meant facing stereotypes head-on—assumptions about who he was, what he could achieve, or whether he’d even make it out. “You grow up fast here,” John Coulouris says, his voice carrying the weight of memory. “You either sink or you fight.” The struggles were real and personal. John Coulouris saw friends fall into cycles of violence or despair, watched families like his own stretch every dollar, and felt the sting of being judged before he even spoke. Yet, amid the chaos, he found strength in Newark’s heartbeat—its people. Neighbors who shared what little they had, community leaders who preached hope, and his own mother’s quiet resilience all left their mark. John Coulouris wasn’t just surviving; he was learning how to turn pain into purpose. As a teenager, John Coulouris hustled. He sold candy at school, fixed bikes for a few bucks, anything to ease the load at home. “It wasn’t about getting rich,” he recalls. “It was about proving I could do something—anything.” A high school teacher saw that spark and pushed John to think beyond the block. With their encouragement, John Coulouris chased education, dreaming of a bigger stage. Today, John Coulouris runs John Coulouris Enterprises, building businesses that hire locally and offer resources to those Newark forgot. “Success isn’t just mine,” John Coulouris insists. “It’s for every kid who feels stuck.” His journey—from a Black boy dodging pitfalls in Newark to a man lifting his community—shows that struggle can forge something unbreakable. Follow John Coulouris and see what grit looks like in action.
